A Day with a Panda Bear
Semester long project for a Studio Seminar course at the University of New Haven taught by Artist Joseph Smolinski. The project was an independent study to develop areas of visual art and design that were really demanding and experimental for myself. A Day with a Panda Bear consisted of a stop motion animation and two lino prints. The video shows how someone (panda bear) deals with depression during a normal day and escapes from what its experience at the end of the video. This first print complementing the stop motion video shown previously explains the comfort of the Panda Bear character while sleeping (starting point in the video). The character is insecure about its feelings but likes to hide them by being happy. The second print complementing the stop motion video for the A Day with a Panda Bear project represents psychological problems like depression experienced by the Panda Bear character who is sort of living a nightmare and does not know how to take care of the problem.
